Walk for Water is the largest grassroots fundraising event in support of a healthy Lake Winnipeg. For many lake-lovers, participating has become an annual family tradition.

Three walks are being held this season in Dunnottar (July 24), Gimli (Aug. 7) and Victoria Beach (Aug. 7), organized by community volunteers with support from LWF. Proceeds are used to translate science into solutions: funding research, training citizen scientists, educating students and community groups, and addressing the root causes of harmful algae blooms by advancing the eight actions of the Lake Winnipeg Health Plan...

Wherever you're spending your August long weekend, we hope you have a great time! LWF's offices will be closed on Monday, Aug. 1. We will reopen on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Join us in Grand Marais on Friday, July 29!

We'll be taking part in Grand Marais Community Central's outdoor market, selling unique fundraising products in support of a healthy Lake Winnipeg. Come by the building grounds between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to purchase art pieces by Kal Barteski, necklaces by Hilary Druxman, vintage plant prints by Henry Eric Bergman – and more!

On Saturday, July 23, you can test your standup paddleboarding skills at Grand Beach! But if that's not for you, they're also putting on a run club, some bocci ball games, and, get this, bubble soccer! It's going to an awesome day!

Registration closes at noon on Friday, July 22.

Share your #LakeLifeGoodLife photos for the chance to win amazing prizes!

What do you do at the lake when you’re feeling adventurous? How do you kick back and relax? Who do you ask when you need a companion?

We want to see those gorgeous hikes and peaceful canoe rides; those tubing wipeouts and wild wakeboard skills. We want to know what lake life means to you!

We’re looking for photos – plain and simple. Show us your own creative style. Show where you go when you feel like exploring. Show us your favourite memories.

Show us what lake-lovers know: that the lake life is the good life!

On July 19, we'll be heading to the Dunnottar Community Club to help clean the beach.

Join us at 10 a.m. to learn more about zebra mussels and the importance of pollution-free beaches and lakes!

Heading out to the lake for the Canada Day long weekend? We'll be at Charlie Wall Park on Sunday, July 3, for the Hillside Beach Community Association's Family Fun Day & Barbeque!

Stop by our table to chat about our work, touch zebra mussels, pick up free educational material and purchase some of our unique fundraising products. We look forward to seeing you there!

SUP CUP returns! Our friends at The Hardcore Surf & Paddleboard Company are once again hosting a series of stand-up paddleboard races at beautiful Grand Beach – and donating proceeds raised to LWF!

Join in the fun on Saturday, Aug. 6. There’s an event for everyone – from novice to elite, and special kids’ races, too! We'll be there all day to cheer on participants and share information about Lake Winnipeg.
