Living Lakes Network Canada (LLNC) was established in 2010 to unite environmental NGOs working for the health and sustainability of natural aquatic ecosystems in all parts of Canada.

LLNC invites lake associations to collaborate in education, monitoring, protection, rehabilitation and policy development initiatives for the long-term protection of Canada’s water bodies with an emphasis on linking academia and action, fostering citizen based water stewardship and promoting watershed level protection of Canada’s water resources.

Generally, a Living Lakes Network Canada Member or Stewardship Partner has the following characteristics:

-is a non-government organization
-is engaged in innovative programs to restore, conserve and sustain lakes, wetlands or other
water bodies
-promotes awareness, education and environmental stewardship wherever possible
-has significant involvement with and support from their local community
